Confirmation of Admission
*After paying the fees a candidate will be received a mail from HoD/Coordinator regarding acknowledgment of fees received along with date of Physical Registration in the Department.
* Candidate will also receive an official email Id (xyz@itbhu.ac.in) by academic section at the time of Physical Registration.
(Candidate need to login using domain @itbhu.ac.in, but can send/receive mail on both domains @itbhu.ac.in & @iitbhu.ac.in)
Profile Registration
A link will be sent to the students for the Profile Registration, student can log-in using official email id.
Course & Physical Registration
A link will be sent by academic section to the students for the Course & Physical Registration, student can log-in using official email id.
*Student need to submit Hardcopy of the Course & Physical Registration in their concern department.

Appointment of Supervisor & Co-Supervisor (optional)
In first semester (normally within two months of admission), a Supervisor & Co-Supervisor (optional) will be appointed for the thesis work.
Activation of Fellowship/Scholarship
Institute Teaching Assistantship (TAship)
Students will receive an email from academic section to fill TAship form and need to submit self-attested hardcopies of-
→ Filled TAship form
→ Bank passbook/ cancelled cheque (SBI)
→ GATE/GPAT score
→ AADHAR card
External Fellow:
HRA (HRS-House Rent Support)
Institute TA: Students need to submit filled HRS/HRA form along with copy of House-Rent Agreement, Marriage Certificate/Card and AADHAR Card
Renewal of TAship/ Fellowship
All the Institute TA need to submit renewal of TAship form at the starting of each Academic Session i.e. normally in the month of August.
Leave Rules
Vacation Leave:- Upto 15 days per semester with maximum 30 days in an academic year (applicable in Vacation Period only).
Casual Leave:-Upto 8 days per semster
(*not longer than 6 days at a time, * can not combined with other kind of leave, * can not carried over.
Medical Leave:-Upto 8 days per semester
(*max 8 days leaves can be carry forward to next semester)

Student Travel Grant Support (STGS)
Travel support for the Ph.D. Students and PG & UG Students for presenting their work (oral or poster presentation) in national and international conferences / symposia /seminars/workshops will be supported by the institute under following terms & conditions:
National/International Conference in India: Twice in Two years
Up to Rs.10,000.00 for class “A” Conferences.
Up to Rs.5,000.00 for class “B” Conferences.
International Conference outside India : Once in Two years
Asian Countries: Up to Rs.30,000.00 for class “A” Conferences.
Up to Rs.20,000.00 for class “B” Conferences.
Other Countries: Up to Rs.50,000.00 for class “A” Conferences.
Up to Rs.30,000.00 for class “B” Conferences.
Note :
→ Class A & Class B type conferences will be decided by the Departments/Schools in their respective areas. No travel grant for class C i.e. below class B conferences shall be admissible.
→ Travel grant recommended by supervisor and HoD/Coordinator will be granted by Institute level committee.
→ Student will give presentation in the Department/School after return within a month.
Progress & Attendance Report
Students need to submit Progress and Attendance Report in each month (to be submitted on next day after 25th day of the month)
Comprehensive Examination
Students registered in the Ph.D. programme must pass a comprehensive examination designed to test the overall comprehension of the student in the various subjects. A student can appear in the comprehensive examination only after he/she has completed the course requirements and satisfied the minimum specified CPI requirement..
Candidacy for the PhD degree
A student enrolled in the Ph.D. programme is formally admitted to the candidacy for the Ph.D. degree after he/she has completed the course requirements for the degree with at least the minimum required CPI, and has passed the comprehensive examination. Only such students who are admitted to the candidacy will be allowed to submit Ph.D. theses.
Research Progress Evaluation Committee (RPEC)
The Research Progress Evaluation Committee (RPEC) for a Ph.D. student consists of the Supervisor(s), one subject expert from the Department/School and one member from outside the Department/School. The RPEC examines the research progress of the candidate at the end of each semester and awards grades.
State of the Art (SOTA) Seminar
Every Ph.D. student admitted to the candidacy for the Ph.D. degree is required to give a general seminar in the Department/School in the presence of Research Programme Evaluation Committee (RPEC), covering the State-of-the-Art (SOTA) of the proposed area of research. This seminar must be given before the end of the semester in which the student had registered for thesis credits first time.
