Central Government Leave Rules and MCQ
Central Government Leave Rules & MCQ
A. General Principles
-
Leave is not a right; sanctioning authority may refuse/revoke leave but cannot change the kind applied for.

-
Maximum continuous leave: 5 years (beyond this requires President’s sanction).
-
Taking employment elsewhere during leave needs prior approval.

Overstayal: debited to HPL, excess as EOL; no leave salary, no increment/pension count for overstayal.
-
Wilful absence after leave → disciplinary action.
